Diane Bailey was born and raised near the small town of Zebulon, NC but now calls Garner, NC home, which is a supburb of Raleigh. Diane moved to Garner from Sunset Beach, SC where she performed at the Eddie Miles Theatre six nights a week for seven years with sell-out crowds every night.

Diane came from a musical family. Her mom Dolly and her father Wilson were singing long before Diane was born. They played package shows with some of the legends of the 40’s and 50’s such as Chet Atkins, Sonny James, Little Jimmy Dickens, and the Carter Family.

Diane’s singing career began at the young age of three when she recorded her first record “Hey Good Looking” and “Wandering”. At the age of 5 she was a regular on a local TV show called ‘Saturday Night Country Style’. Diane was so small she had to stand on a bale of hay to reach the microphone. This same show helped launched the careers of George Hamilton IV, and guitarist Jimmy Capps who has been a staff musician on the Grand Ole Opry for over 30 years.

Winning a talent contest at age 8 entitled Diane and her parents to travel to Nashville and earn a spot on Ernest Tubb’s ‘Midnight Jamboree’ and a special guest performance at the Grand Ole Opry, which was also known as the Ryman Auditorium. Diane remembers being carried on stage by the late great Marty Robbins.
