“I was raised in Detroit, Michigan with a family that cherished music, offering extensive exposure to a variety of styles from classical to show tunes and ethnic to contemporary blues, rock, & folk songs of the day. With a strong background of family & chorale harmonizing, I broke into the music business performing while working my way through college. A solo act initially, I made a start singing contemporary songs at weddings, backing myself up with guitar. During those years, I also started writing lyrics and music. With all my thoughts and emotions in a whirl, I found a way to express myself, to let things out, and to laugh at the situation. Later adding key-boards, I made my way from Michigan to California as a lounge entertainer. Eventually, I traveled the country with a partner in a duo called “Aurora”, performing danceable music in hotel lounges & night-clubs. When we settled in the Northwest, we developed “Aurora Entertainment”, an agency coordinating musicians & novelty acts for private parties, corporate functions, and some clubs. During that time, I continued to perform as a soloist & with the duo.

I took a musical hiatus to raise my daughter back in Detroit and established residence in North Carolina in 1992. In more recent years, my daughter prompted me to perform in duet for multicultural holiday performances. During the rest of the year, I re-established myself as a part-time seasoned performer for senior resident communities, healthcare facilities, and special occasions.

I continued to write music to soothe my emotions, recently, reviving my interest in publishing, recording, and selling recording rights to my original material. I finally started working on my first CD in August 2006 .

My debut CD, appropriately named “Renewed”, was released in October 2007. It contains both old & new original numbers from sweet to sultry presentations. I am told I’m a vocal chameleon. I have a clean sound. The essence of “Renewed” includes selections with common threads of blues & jazz. The musical arrangements enhance the vocals to highlight lyric expression, each song with it's own unique character. With new - yet old/wise ideas, both contemporary and nostalgic issues to express, find some gritty blues, mellow jazz, a folksy lullaby, thoughtful musical poetry, a sultry Latin piece, and a few jagged edges of rock & roll. Top that off with some contemporary ballads and there is a little something for everyone!”
